Transcendentalism in MY World Project 1. ââ¬Å"Born This Wayâ⬠Artist: Lady Gaga The lyrics of the song, ââ¬Å"Donââ¬â¢t hide yourself in regret, just love yourself and youââ¬â¢re set, Iââ¬â¢m on the right track, baby I was born this way,â⬠could mean thatââ¬â¢s itââ¬â¢s okay to be different. You should be able to accept the way you are because everyone is different, and everyone has a different style on how they want to live their life. 2. ââ¬Å"Big Yellow Taxiâ⬠Artist: Counting Crows This song displays the importance of nature when it says, ââ¬Å"Donââ¬â¢t it always seem to go that you donââ¬â¢t know what you got ââ¬Ëtil itââ¬â¢s gone, they paved paradise and put up a parking lot.â⬠This song is saying that trees and wildlife have been paved over just for a parking lot. Also, peopleâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦6. ââ¬Å"Miracle Whipâ⬠Commercial This commercial displays free thought/ non-conformity when everyone is saying that Miracle Whip mayonnaise is odd and the lady in the commercial says, ââ¬Å" Miracle Whip is tangy and sweet, not odd.â⬠The lady n this commercial is thinking freely and not conforming to what others think about Miracle Whip. Another way of non-conformity is that the lady was wearing colored clothing, while the rest of the people were wearing black and white. 7. Nike Brand Slogan : ââ¬Å"Just Do Itâ⬠Nikeââ¬â¢s brand slogan is known to be one of the most famous slogans that portray self-reliance. ââ¬Å"Just Do Itâ⬠is pushing athletes to be the best they can be and not to back down. Tis slogan is not only meant for athletes, but for anyone that goes to purchase Nike brand items or just reads the slogan. 8. Comic Strip: ââ¬Å"Calvin Hobbes- Calvin Comes Home from Schoolâ⬠This comic strip is an example of non-conformity because Hobbes does not greet Calvin the usual way. Instead of just saying hello and maybe just giving Calvin a hug, Hobbes tackles him. Calvin says he wishes Hobbes could just give him something like an ââ¬Å"I miss youâ⬠card, but Hobbes rather does whatââ¬â¢s fun. Hobbes doesnââ¬â¢t care about what everyone else does, but gives the greeting that he wanted to give. 9.
